If you love eggnog, this Christmas fudge is for you. There's eggnog inside along with two important eggnog spices - nutmeg and a bit of cinnamon. Plus those spices are sprinkled on top for a bit of color and a bit more festive flavor.

Eggnog is one of those polarizing foods. I find that people either love it, or they can't stand it. I'm in the love corner. We have quite a few relatives who enjoy it a lot as well, so this is a popular holiday treat in our family.

Making homemade fudge is pretty easy. One thing that you need to have when making fudge, or many types of candy at home, is a candy thermometer. It is necessary to measure the high temperatures needed for candy to properly firm up and set.

For recipes like this where nutmeg is a prominent flavor, I like to use freshly grated nutmeg. You can often find whole nutmeg in larger grocery stores. Use a microplane to grate it and the aroma and flavor are really superb!

Make sure when you make this fudge, or anything else that requires you to melt white chocolate, that you get a high quality brand. I like to use Ghirardelli white chocolate chips and find that it always works well. It melts smoothly and isn't dry or grainy.

White chocolate eggnog fudge lasts a week or so in the refrigerator, too. I like to bring it out to come to room temperature before serving.

I've also frozen it with success. You can thaw it on parchment in a freezer container. Add a layer of parchment paper in between each layer of pre-cut fudge before freezing. Then simply thaw overnight and let come to room temperature before serving.

This fudge is perfect for homemade Christmas gifts or for adding to your holiday cookie and dessert trays. Bring it to a potluck or as a hostess gift. I've even brought it to places for fundraiser raffles and people always seem to enjoy it a lot.

  • 3/4 cup eggnog, well-shaken
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 12 oz. white chocolate chips
  • 1 jar (7.5 oz) marshmallow creme/fluff
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, plus more for sprinkling
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon, plus more for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Line an 8x8 dish with foil and then lightly grease the foil with butter. Set aside.

  3. Remove from the heat and stir in the white chocolate until smooth.
  4. Stir in the marshmallow creme, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla. Pour into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Dust the top with a bit more nutmeg and a tiny bit of cinnamon.

    1. White chocolate can be tricky. I find Ghiradelli brand white chocolate works best for melting. Otherwise, a good quality white chocolate bar broken up. I should update this post to recommend that. Hopefully that helps! I'm sorry it was gritty!

    2. I did not use a high quality chocolate :( I didn't update that after it set it kinda became smooth. At the end the consistency was between a fudge and ganash, but everyone LOVED it!!! I have no leftovers!! I will do them again but using better chocolate. Thanks Amy!!!...I am making the cranberry tart as we speak :)
