Easy creamy grape salad

Bowl of creamy grape salad.

Make this cool and creamy grape salad side dish for your next summer cookout or picnic! It's so refreshing and always a big hit with everyone who tries it.

Crisp and cold grapes are perfect for a hot summer day. These ones are coated in a sweet creamy dressing and topped with lightly toasted pecans for a delicious summer salad. This salad is a terrific side dish for a cookout or picnic and makes a lot to feed a crowd.

Grape salad is so easy to throw together. It only takes a few minutes and a handful of ingredients and then a bit of chilling time. At the end, you have a unique fruit salad for your next summer gathering. Don't skip the steps of drying your grapes because you don't want to dressing to get watery.

I always like to use a mix of different colored grapes (usually half green and half red). You can use all of one color, or use some black grapes if you can find them in addition or instead of the red or green. The more colors the prettier the salad is in my opinion.

You want to get seedless grapes for a fruit salad like this. Also, be sure to get the firmest grapes you can find - it makes a difference! You want the grapes to "pop" in your mouth (not squish) when you bite them.

I love old-fashioned salads like these. I never had this salad until a few years ago when someone brought it to our house for a party. I have been making it ever since. It's a fun change-up from the usual cookout and summer party side dishes and goes so well with many grilled foods.

Give this salad a try this summer. It's sure to be a hit with everyone!

Please note that grapes are a choking hazard and should be properly cut and modified before serving to young children.
